Award – Diploma for Accounting Technicians (ATI) - Year 2 - Fully Online (Monday and Wednesday nights)
Course Requirements
- Applicants must have successfully completed Accounting Technician: Year 1 (at any centre) or possess an approved equivalent qualification.
- Applicants must have achieved a pass in at least 3 subjects in First Year Accounting Technicians Ireland course, including both Financial Accounting I and Taxation I. The pass mark is 50% for all subjects.
- Studying online requires a PC or laptop with reliable broadband and a basic IT knowledge.
- Learners must be aged 18 and over.
AIM OF THE COURSE
This course can provide students with the following:
- Qualified accounting Technicians are highly employable and will work alongside qualified accountants in business, industry, private practice, and the public sector. The comprehensive training you receive means that you can play a wide range of roles in any organisation, such as assistant accountant, credit controller, payroll administrator, and so on.
- Qualified accounting technicians may continue their studies and may be eligible for various exemptions from professional exams
- This final year of a two-year study programme is designed to prepare learners for employment in accounting departments of commercial, industrial or public sector organisations or in the offices of practicing accountants.
- It provides a valuable qualification in accounting and information skills and membership of Accounting Technician Ireland (ATI), a professional body sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
- The Accounting Technician programme is an ideal preparation for the pursuit of a career in professional accountancy
CERTIFICATION CRITERIA
The Accounting Technicians Ireland qualification is divided into two parts, each of which is a qualification in its own right. Successful completion of year 2 leads to an Accounting Technician Diploma on level 6 of the National Framework of Qualifications. The full Diploma is conditional on specific work experience criteria being met (see here) and completing all 8 academic modules: 4 for Year 1 (Certificate) and 4 for Year 2 (Diploma).

- Wednesday - Management Accounting, Financial Data Management - 6-10 pm - Online

It is the student’s responsibility to register directly with the Institute and these fees are separate and are not included in the course tuition fees payable to GTI
